Conservatories you can use all year round

A conservatory is a great way of adding extra space without too much cost or hassle from the planning department. Unfortunately, most conservatories are unusable for much of the year, with greenhouse heat in the summer and a dramatic drop in temperature in the winter. Thankfully, that is no longer the case.

Aesthetics, security, durability

The base

Altus Conservatories are supplied with an energy-efficient base with very extensive under-floor insulation and modern 100mm cavity walls.

The frames

We would advise on ‘A-Rated’ frames that allow almost zero heat loss and also reduce the sun’s harsh glare, thanks to modern composite materials and very clever sealed glass unit technology.

The roof

Our roof technology is probably the best of all, with self-cleaning, thermally efficient glass. The roof can also have thermostatically-controlled openers to keep the conservatory at a constant, usable temperature, and a coloured tint to cut the glare further.

Bring the garden into your home, and your home into the garden, with a well-insulated UPVC conservatory that holds the heat in winter yet isn't stiflingly hot in summer. Our range is designed to suit any style of architecture, and we can offer you a design tailor made to meet your needs.

Watch a conservatory installation in Hinckley

John Croxall, who ran Altus from 2003 to 2015, presents the features of a conservatory we installed in Hinckley.

Main features and benefits

  • The unique coating reflects about 69% of total solar energy, almost twice as much as standard glass.
  • Reduce potentially expensive heating bills: our product outperforms standard glass by more than 50%.
  • Warm edge spacer technology increases the edge temperature by up to 65%.
  • A world first: true self-cleaning glass that never stops working.

Which style would look best?

With our computer software, we can take a digital photograph of the part of the house you are thinking of putting a conservatory onto, and superimpose several different designs onto it. It gives you a brilliant idea of what the finished conservatory will look like, and you can even view your garden from the inside of the proposed conservatory.

Optional extras

Once your conservatory is completely installed, we can offer the following via an approved contractor:

  • Electrical services like lighting, sockets or ceiling fans
  • Central heating, connected to your existing boiler
  • Roof blinds

Blinds

Altus Windows recommend Shadewell Blinds, a local manufacturer and retailer of blind systems of the highest quality.
